Making the handles
open new image 800 x 650
background fill colour #c0c0c0
go to preset shapes and locate arrow 7
draw out your arrow as below
with your magic wand select your arrow go to selections modify contract around 20 pixels
and hit delete your image now
go to selections select none
click on your selection tool selection type rectangle
now drag out your selection at the point of your arrow like below and hit delete
go to selections select none
again using the selection tool selection type rectangle drag out your selection like below click on your pan tool and click anywhere on your workspace choose copy
now hit delete and again using your selection tool rectangle drag out your selection on the opposite side of your image and hit delete like below
go to selections select none now click on your workspace paste / paste as new layer you should now have your image as below
now duplicate this layer
click on your pick tool and postion both layers as below
layers merge visible
using your magic wand select your image effects plugins eyecandy 4000 chrome with these settings
you now have your handle if you want to keep it rounded you can however i used the mesh warp tool to give it more character by moving
the nodes slightly as shown below
rename this layer handle go to image free rotate with these settings and with the move tool position your handle as below
go to layers new raster layer
name this layer clip
with your clip layer highlighted go to preset shapes and choose rounded rectangle and draw out your rectangle as below
with your magic wand select your rectangle go to effects 3D effects inner bevel with these settings
now make a smaller selection along the bottom and repeat the inner bevel setting like below
this time make two small selections opposite each other and hit delete as in screenshot below
selections select none
now using your lighten / darken tool give some light shading to give your clip a more realistic look
now highlight your handle layer arrange and move to top
for this part you will use the warp brush tool to shape your handles going through the clip (this will take a little bit of practice) work with it until you have them bent shaped like mine
and just use the eraser tool to erase the unwanted ends.
Save as psp.image so you can recolour your clip and also export as picture tube as this will be easier to size for your scrapping projects.
